There was a report yesterday stating that Prince Charles borrowed almost 3,000 pounds of protective personnel after learning that he ran out of money and must pay a “travel expenses”.
Independent mentioned that the heir to the throne was to pay back the debt for 2744.34 pounds (U.S. $ 4461) to police officers after they collect the money that was originally prepared for the cost of flights to foreign countries.
The money was paid back by Clarence House in December 2007, and Scotland Yard cashed the check a few days later, the newspaper said quoting from a document.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said the officers sometimes had to lend money to people they protect, despite her spokesman did not confirm the 2007 incident was. “Sometimes, and if the need arises, staff will provide the cost of protection on behalf of the people they protect. Later, the money is paid back,” the spokesman said.
The prince’s spokesman would not comment on the matter.
Ken Wharfe, former protection officer for Princess Diana, saying it was common between him and former associates and not “need no fear about it”.
“It is rare for members of the Royal Family to carry cash or credit card so that the normal course if the officer is paid for all purposes. When I worked with the late Princess Diana, in some circumstances I do like ordering food at restaurants to book a hotel room,” Wharfe said.
We are not the only one who had such experience as a general public, even a prince of the British empire can experience it.
